Top Ten Tuesday - Books I've Read So Far This Year

Top Ten Book I've Read So Far This Year

This meme was a lovely excuse to go through my archives for the year.
These 10 books stood out head and shoulders above the rest.
I was delighted to see four Australian books in the mix as well as three children's books.
I think it's a nice mix of historical fiction, contemporary fiction and award winners.

I hope this list inspires you to try one of these books - they're absolutely wonderful!
Happy Reading.

    1. Ba ha! I think the Luminaries is a book that you have to be in the right mood for - it does seem to be a love it or hate it kind of book though. I was actually surprised that everyone on the ABC Book Club enjoyed it a couple of months ago - I was sure there would have been a divided debate.

The Luminaries! I don't think I'll be getting around to that book any time soon (it's sitting in my eReader), but glad to read that you enjoyed it :)

  4. Oh, The Blue Castle! I think I'm a bit far behind with contemporary reading though when that's the only one on the list that I have read. Oh well! ;-)

  6. Lovely list Brona, looks like you're already having a great year. Sad to say that the only one of these I've read too is Owl Babies, and I agree, I totally loved it too. I saw Kristina Olsson speak at SWF, and now really want to read Boy, Lost. Ophelia and the Marvellous Boy is very high on my radar- I really want to read that soon. And I just adore the title of The Apple Tart of Hope. I remember how much you loved The Railwayman's Wife- I'd love to have time to get to it too.

  10. I bought Luminaries a while back, but haven't gotten around to it yet. The Invention of Wings is one I've been thinking of buying. Now that summer has finally arrived, I'll be reading like a fiend!
