Ice Wind Rock by Peter Gouldthorpe

Ice, Wind, Rock: Douglas Mawson in the Antarctic has been shortlisted for this year's CBCA Eve Pownall information book award.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     This picture book is based on the true story of Mawson's journey to Antarctica in 1908 & 1911. Full of derring-do, adventure & discovery, this is a story of heroism & determination.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     The illustrations are wonderful - so clear and vivid - you can almost feel the desperate cold as you turn each page! It also includes a fold out map and timeline at the back.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Ice, Wind, Rock is perfect for early readers or to share in your primary school classroom. This book covers Australian history, exploration, science & environmental issues.

I love hearing from you but I understand that blogger commenting can be a frustrating experience for many.

Make sure you're logged into your account before writing your comment (esp on mobile devices), otherwise blogger will eat it. I have occasionally found lost comments by hitting the back arrow button.

A recent discussion with blogger admin revealed that the ability to post comments "is sensitive to both cookie and script filters. Your readers may need to enable (stop filtering) & third party cookies, check their script filters in their browser and on their computer.Filters are subject to update, by the creator. If the problem started a few days ago, your readers may have to look on their computers, and find out what product or accessory was updated, a few days ago."
I hope this helps. Using a different browser for a while was another suggestion.
