A River by Marc Martin

I love Marc Martin's illustrations.

His previous three picture books have become some of my favourites - A Forest and The Curious Explorer's Illustrated Guide to Exotic Animals A - Z and Max.

I also follow Martin's Instagram account so that I can get my regular fix of his colourful view of life!

His latest picture book, A River, is a story about imagination, the environment & change.

Gentle, poetic words send us floating down the river. We glide by a city, through farmland, a jungle and eventually out to a stormy sea.

Each page is full of details & patterns and beautiful colour palettes.
I could pour over the pages for hours.

The front cover has been embossed which adds a lovely tactile element & extends the flowing, gliding sensation. I can't keep my fingers from running over each plant & letter.

Martin has, yet again, created another picture book for me to love!

  1. I think I've only read one of his book, I should read more. I wish I had time in my life for instagram following, but I just don't.

I love hearing from you but I understand that blogger commenting can be a frustrating experience for many.

Make sure you're logged into your account before writing your comment (esp on mobile devices), otherwise blogger will eat it. I have occasionally found lost comments by hitting the back arrow button.

A recent discussion with blogger admin revealed that the ability to post comments "is sensitive to both cookie and script filters. Your readers may need to enable (stop filtering) & third party cookies, check their script filters in their browser and on their computer.Filters are subject to update, by the creator. If the problem started a few days ago, your readers may have to look on their computers, and find out what product or accessory was updated, a few days ago."
I hope this helps. Using a different browser for a while was another suggestion.
